Hearts exploding from and envelope.

Hello, From My Heart

garyharmonychurch_sm.jpgWelcome to "Hello, From My Heart" Days This years campaign will again be from September 11th thru the 21st.  We are a grass roots peace movement producing measurable results:

For our communities - violence decreases

For our selves - health & happiness increases

For our World - We can have peace on Earth.

(results may be found under the EVENT HISTORY button on the left side of this page)

Yes, we can be happier, healthier, and more at peace.  And when we are, we change and we change the world.

As Gandhi said: "If we seek change, we must be the change we seek."  "Hello, From My Heart" greetings are simply a way to be that change.  I believe WE are born with one purpose; one driving force we have in common - to love and be loved.  When we feel the love, we are happier.  When we are happier, we are also healthier and naturally, more at peace.

It is only thru the experiences of life we sometimes take a few detours.  We learn to stray; we learn what seems like justification to stray from that one purpose, that one path.  As JFK said, "Our problems are man made."

While I do not believe in problems, only opportunities; it follows that "If we keep doing things the same way, we're going to get the same results."  Doing things the same way and expecting different results is Einstein's definition of insanity.

So, what is a "Hello, From My Heart" greeting?    What does it mean to you?  Everyone seems to have a slightly different answer, and everyone is right.  There is however a common denominator, and the common denominator of all answers appears to be "an expression of love."  We hope you'll share your thoughts on our blog.

Now, let's take this a step further.  We learned from Gestalt that "what we see in someone else is a reflection of ourselves."  Therefore, as we "express love," we are actually loving ourselves.  Now, that's a powerful source of happiness.  Or as Alexander Smith said, "Love is the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition."

Men_Women_Shaking_Hands.jpgFor those of us familiar with the ancient Sanskrit greeting, Namaste, you might say "Hello, From My Heart" is a contemporary version of it.

Some have said, "but I all ready greet people nicely, why should I say "Hello, From My Heart?"  To that we say, "keep up the good work, and think about this."  How many times have we given a cheery "Good Morning," only to hear the shortened reply of "morning."   Or, how about, "Hi, how are you," or, "have a nice day."  We have heard these phrases for so long and so often they have lost their power.  In terms of social psychology, they have become phatic communication.  People often say them and respond as a reflex.  Once again, they have lost their power

How is someone likely to respond to your first "Hello, From My Heart" greeting?  If they were paying close attention, they might smile, say thank you, and repeat the greeting to you.  Or, in today's hurried, multi-tasking world they might do a double take and ask you what you said.  GREAT!  Your reply might simply be; "I am part of a peace movement that is changing our world with "Hello, From My Heart" greetings.  Then, you could direct them to this web site.

Remember Margaret Mead's famous words?  "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

"Hello, From My Heart" Days started in eight counties of Tampa Bay, Florida in '02.  As of last years campaign, it has now spread to 115 nations reaching millions upon millions of people.

If you'd like to be happier, healthier, and more at peace, we hope you'll join us.  If you'd like to give this gift to your family, your friends, customers, and co-workers we hope you'll invite them also.  We truly can change our World.  It is as simple as "being the change we seek."

Here are some ideas that others are doing:

Emails - They are addressing their emails with a "Hello, From My Heart" greeting.

Telephone -  They're answering their phones with a smile and our greeting.

Person to Person -  This requires no explanation other than acknowledging there will be times when a silent greeting will seem more appropriate.  That's okay, just think the greeting.  It will still have power.

Flyers - Some are downloading our flyers, handing them out, and hanging them in elevators and other appropriate places.

Radio - Some are calling their favorite request line and extending their "Hello, From My Heart" greeting to the station's audience.  What a wonderful idea this is!

Television -  Some are printing out our "Pass it On" Flyer, enlarging it, visiting the outdoor audiences of the network morning shows, and holding them up.  This is another super idea.

Everything makes a difference.  Everyone makes a difference.

On behalf of humanity, thank you for all that you are doing.  "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." - Eleanor Roosevelt
